Wendy Lee Kenward is an innovator, story activist, and compassionate community developer. She loves engaging people in dialogue, unpacking our stories and building new opportunities for growth. Wendy has been an early childhood educator for over 30 years, and her experiences in child care, as a team leader overseeing programs for children with special needs, and as a clinical supervisor for early intervention programs is woven into the rich tapestry of her career.
Currently, Wendy is living and working in the unceded territory of the Syilx peoples in the Central Okanagan. She is an independent Community Development Consultant working with the Suxkenxitelx kl Cecamala Early Years Table, as well as One Sky Community Resources Society. She is also an instructor at Okanagan College in the Early Childhood Development Education department.
While Wendy has a diploma in Early Childhood Education, and a Masters degree in Leadership, she continues to pursue knowledge through the sharing of stories and lived experiences. She believe we all have amazing life stories to tell, and so much to learn from one another.
Wendy is committed to her personal journey in truth and reconciliation, and is dedicated to holding each other up we each walk our own truth and reconciliation journeys. With a strong value in building relationships and trust - in all that we do as a community, Wendy believes that working shoulder to shoulder, listening, and
supporting each other through our best and most difficult of times, is vital for human growth. As Helen Keller eloquently stated, “alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”.
